Lund Ramblers

We who live in or near the Parish of Lund are fortunate to be within easy reach, by car, of beautiful countryside such as the Trough of Bowland, Silverdale, the West Pennine Moors and the South Lakes and so in 1986 a couple of parishioners set up a rambling group to encourage all who are able, to meet monthly and to go on rambles and explore the scenery and enjoy the exercise.

The group meets most months on a Saturday, usually the second Saturday of the month, starting to walk at 10.30am. The walks are normally between six and eight miles long and vary in the degree of difficulty. We try, as much as possible, to walk along public footpaths and avoid where we can walking along the roads. We each take a packed lunch and drinks for the day; although we have been known to stop at a pub or cafe at the end of the walk if that is convenient.

All ramblers are encouraged to wear good boots and warm waterproof clothing as one can never be sure of the weather no matter the season.

The co-ordinator of the group is Jeff Penman, who leads many of the rambles, although we encourage members to lead, particularly if they know of somewhere interesting to ramble.

Anyone interested in joining us on a ramble can make contact using the details below to be put on the mailing list; you would be most welcome and find that we are a very friendly group.
